A Nay and a Moo and a Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!

I think we may have just thrown the bestest 4th birthday party ever! Luke turned 4 years old on Sunday and had his first ever "friends" birthday party and let's just say I think he's well liked at school! We had a huge turn out, a total of 25 kiddos showed up for his birthday party which included a "Big Red Barn". The traveling barnyard petting zoo arrived promptly and set up a corral which included a cow, a rabbit, a pig, a turkey (that never moved), a donkey, a sheep, a chicken and several goats! Luke spent the entire hour in the corral with his friends! They loved it! The goats acted like dogs and actually wanted to be brushed. Luke fancied the chicken (surprise, surprise)! I had barnyard tattoos that we put on the kids' cheeks and hands, danced to the "Chicken Dance", broke open a cow pinata, the kids decorated foam barns for each one to take home, we sang Happy Birthday to Luke (his cake this year was a brown and white cow) and sent all the kids home on a sugar high with a bag of barnyard inspired sugar cookies (and pinata candy)! 1 hour and 45 minutes later everyone was gone! Shew! The biggest stress of all was the prediction of thunderstorms all weekend long. I think a special someone up above decided that barnyard animals in the garage would never do and we had the most beautiful (yet humid) day ever!

Luke waiting for his birthday celebration to begin!

A sample of the sugar cookies I decorated for the kids! There were black and white sheep and pink pigs too!

Luke hanging out with the chicken!

The cow! It just hung out like this the entire time!

Look at this pig! How do those little legs carry him? He grunted with pleasure when you gave him a rub!

A quick snapshot of the "Big Red Barn". The coolest traveling party ever!

Luke posing with his friend Jackson. Can you see the turkey in the background? I asked if he ever flew away and was told "Nope, but he'll face the other direction from time to time."

Perhaps my new favorite picture of Luke! Coming to a greeting card near you!

Luke gets so tickled when the spot light is on him. He always keeps his hands close to his face!

Look at this loot! No, he's not sticking out his tongue, he's trying to spit out some wrapping paper that is in his mouth. The wrapping paper on this present was tough! No kidding!
