Dane's 4 Month Stats

Dane had his 4 month well check today and his stats are as follows:

Height: 24 1/2" (25th percentile)
Weight: 14 lbs 12 oz (50th percentile)
Head: 17" (75th percentile)

Not that I'm comparing but...he's right on track to match Luke's height (Luke was 24 1/2" long...Nolan was 26 1/2" long!) and Nolan's weight (Nolan was 14 lbs 14 oz and Luke was 15 lbs 2 oz!). But Dane's got the biggest cranium of them all (Nolan and Luke both were 16 1/2")! He's exceeding his milestones as he can roll both ways and Dr Robert doesn't expect that type of skill until 5 months of age. Dr Robert also said his eyes appear to be blue and should remain blue but I already knew that!

What about Dane?

You may be wondering "where's Dane"? Sweet baby Dane spent Saturday at Grandma's house where they BOTH enjoyed each other and the air conditioning! Grandma Sally has dubbed Dane a "stupendous" baby and well, it's hard to top that! Dane turned 4 months old on July 10th...where is the time going?

Fun on Lake Grapevine

What do you do when it's 103 degrees in July when you live in Texas? You gather up all your best buddies and hop aboard Capt'n Butch's boat and stay cool in the lake! The Overbeek and Paquette families joined us aboard the "Third Wish" and we headed to the beach area at the lake. The boys jumped, swam, dug in the sand, threw water balloons, ate hotdogs, chips, cookies and lollipops while the Moms and Dads enjoyed a few cold "beverages". The Dads think we ran out of "beverages" too soon but it was probably a good idea considering we were still responsible for 6 (yes, count them 6) active boys! We're so happy everyone could come and enjoy themselves. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the day!

4th of July

We had a very busy weekend! Great Grandma and cousins Scott & Kris arrived in Texas on Thursday evening. We spent some time on the sailboat on Friday, grilled fajitas on Friday night and watched the Southlake fireworks show from the Primrose parking lot with our friends, the Paquettes. Saturday we headed up to Moss Lake and it was hot, hot, hot! The boys were sunscreened repeatedly and all that work was repaid without any burned noses, shoulders or feet! That evening we enjoyed the fireworks show as most everyone on the lake was setting off their own fireworks. It was quite a show! Although, Lucy and Luke were not impressed with the noise so they joined Dane and myself in the house and watched from the window. Sunday was a rainy day so we started slowly by having breakfast at the hotel with Gary and Amanda (Nolan could hardly contain himself and wanted to wake them up at 7:45am!) We returned to the Janbaz lake house late morning and the rain let up just enough for a quick boat ride with Aunt Lizzie. Drew busted his eardrum 2 weeks ago and is unable to get in the water so Aunt Liz took Nolan "surfing" behind the boat. He was thrilled! We finished off the weekend gathering at Grandma and Grandpa Wilson's house for dinner with Great Grandma before her return to Missouri. Included are some of my favorite pictures from the weekend.

A new ad for AT&T!

Saturday night we treated the boys to a sleep over at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Gainesville, TX! Sunday morning the boys were looking out the window and they could have been the perfect ad for AT&T and their "more bars everywhere" campaign! After I captured the shot of them in the window I took a picture of their little "porkchop" feet and realized again "more bars!" I suspect this stairstep effect will follow us everywhere for many years to come!

Have you ever been so tired?

The 4th of July weekend had barely begun but after one afternoon in the hot Texas sun THIS little boy wore himself out jumping off the back of Grandpa Butch's sailboat! Luke started his nap in his bed but we later found him asleep on top of his teddy with his favorite green blankie against the upstairs railing. Works for me!
